Are you having trouble choosing the perfect products from our e-shop to complement your interior? Get valuable insights from our interview with interior designer Jacquin Headen, who discusses this and much more!
- Before starting to choose colors for any interior, what should one think about first?
Thinking about the types of colors you like to wear in your wardrobe can be very helpful in determining which colors you would enjoy in your home. Do you like bold colors? Then consider bright colors in the interior. If you prefer mostly neutral colors in your wardrobe, you will probably love an interior full of neutral tones. It's important to remember that neutrals don't have to be boring as long as they're done to create a lot of visual interest. Look for items with lots of texture and consider using different patterns within your neutral color palette. If you choose a neutral route when choosing decorations, don't be afraid to include at least one colorful vase in the interior!
- What are the rules for combining colors in the interior?
There really aren't any rules that one has to follow when choosing colors for your decor. Your interior is very personal and a reflection of your personality. The key is to fill your space with things you love! Assembling a collection of objects that capture what you love will make your space unique and memorable. The beginning of building the foundation of stylish furniture will be the canvas on which your unique decorative items will shine next to each other. If you ever find yourself in a difficult situation when combining colors, turn to the color wheel. Contrasting colors can often be complementary, such as shades of green and purple working well together.
- What's the easiest way to bring color into a space?
Wall art and decorative items like vases are my go-to when I'm looking for a way to easily add color to a space. I love that KLIMCHI vases are a great choice for adding texture and color to a space at the same time. Vases are so beautiful that they can stand on their own even if there are no flowers in them. Basically, the vase itself is a beautiful piece of art and a colorful object of interest. When it comes to wall art, as an abstract artist and designer, I like to pull colors from my decor and create an abstract painting based on them. This creates a great custom look! My suggestion is at least one piece of art per room, otherwise the room could look unfinished.
- What would you recommend to a complete beginner in the field of interior design?
I mentioned that it was important to make sure that there was at least some element of wall art in each space, but I would also add decorations with plants and greenery. Plants in the space liven up the room! Every time I finished a space with decor and furniture but no plants, it seemed like something was missing. Combining plants of different heights paired with stylish pots is always the best finishing touch and is a simple addition that a beginner can manage.
- Why did you choose KLIMCHI pieces for your bedroom remodel? And why these two colors?
I searched for the perfect vase for about a week before I found selected pieces from KLIMCHI. I knew from the beginning that I wanted a textured vase, so when I came across the famous Hobnail vases from KLIMCHI, I knew I was in the right place. The texture was so striking and KLIMCHI had a fantastic range of colors to choose from. The space I was decorating had dramatic dark turquoise curtains, so I knew I wanted a KLIMCHI vase in dark blue tones. For my second vase, I chose an egg-shaped vase in light blue. The color is beautiful and you can see subtle changes in the shade of light blue depending on the lighting. This light blue vase was meant to be placed in an area that required a more subtle decor. I was so happy when the KLIMCHI vases arrived. Anticipation precedes me. The craftsmanship and rich colors of KLIMCHI are exactly what I imagined!
